Cleaned up Photos from Picture folder and now Random Wallpaper now longer works with Photo app

I completed moving all my photos to the Photo app today and deleted the sub-directories I had in the Pictures folder. The Pictures folder still exists and holds the Photo app database.

Now however, the 1 minute random selection of wallpaper is no longer working at all. It starts with a Sonoma wallpaper and never changes, even when I select ALL Photos, Random and 1 Minute. Nothing changes anymore. I tried different settings. If I select a picture from the Photo app it shows it, but will no longer randomly rotate photos as wall paper.

I would appreciate any advice, recommendations, ideas.

What I do is make a Wallpaper folder in the Pictures folder and point the wallpaper settings to it with "Add Photos>Choose." In Photos, I use File>Export>Export nn Photos, and set the size

in the export dialog to something that works on my screen. My MacBookPro's screen is 3024 x 1964 pixels, and it seems to me that even a height of 491 pixels, 1/4 size) looks OK as a background, but an advantage is that you can play around with that. So I can have the wallpaper I want with fairly small files. I do the same with Screensaver images.

Maybe Sonoma will make this superfluous.
