Damaged charging port of MacBook Air (2023)

I was taking a taxi to uni when the driver suddenly slammed his breaks. I carry my laptop in a safe bag but the bag fell and I hadn't noticed any damage until I got to my class and saw a dent on the charging port area. It looks like the actual magnetic part has smushed and the charger won't connect to it anymore. Does AppleCare+ cover damage like this or will I have to pay out of pocket?
