I used migration assistant to move all of my apps and software from my old iMac to the new one running on Sanoma and inevitably, I could not print on my Epson SC P600 through the cabled print driver version 12.62
As a photographer, it is important to use the cable print driver as it gives more control in the print dialogue box over papers and print settings.
In 2020 I contacted Epson to say that compared side by side to my old Epson R2880, the Epson air print driver was putting too much ink on the page and they suggested using cabled print driver v12.62 which rectified the problem.
So it was important for me to get this driver running with my new Sanoma iMac.
Epson again were very helpful in directing me to the new update

This link includes software updater for the specific iMac Sonoma go to the link and update the software.
This didn’t initially solve the problem as I made the mistake in thinking that the Epson auto updata would install the new driver automatically
I contacted Apple support who were very helpful in getting me to update to the latest software but it was still not working.
I found after numerous attempts at deleting the old driver that when I went into ‘system settings’ – ‘Printers & scanners” – “add Printer, scanner or Fax” that EPSON SC-P600 (IP) came up as an option.
I am not sure what the (IP) stands for, but it has sorted out the problem and I can print with the cabled driver and the important ‘print settings’ option dialogue box.
