I use a iPod on the latest firmware. I was wondering if me using instagram is safe from malware and viruses, since I know dms can spread it, I’m mainly concerned as to whether watching videos and pictures could give malware. Any one knowledgeable on this? Also could malware on iOS jump to my internet router? I’m very concerned.

For the DM malware on instagram and Facebook, this will only affect your instagram or Facebook account, not your iOS. So to protect your accounts, I suggest that you use 2 factor authentication with an app.
