After upgrading to Sonoma, Safari displays all content in a black screen. If you scroll quickly, you can see the context briefly, but it is quickly covered by black again. Using Apple's page as a test, I can still click on random things (as I can't see them) and it appears the page is redirected, but I still can't see.
I've verified the settings in Safari mirror that of another machine that is working fine on Sonoma.
I've updated to 14.1.2 yet Safari is still at Version 17.0 (18616.1.27.111.22, 18616). Anyone seeing a similar issue on the macs that have the black window while browsing?

Same issue
on some sites bit render on others its just black.
This was after a update from 14.0 to 14.1
Brand new Macmini (2023) with an M2. Again as stated above, started with a fresh version of Sonoma, after about 2 weeks it started getting this issue.
Absolutely. I have rebooted multiple times. This behavior is system wide (tried multiple user accounts). Depressing "shift" while launching Safari exhibits no change.
It's also important to note that this also occurs in a private window. All cache/history has been cleared as well. This is a 13" M1 Pro MBP.
I've noticed in the Tab Overview screen you can see the webpages normally
When I tested with Safari Tech Preview, everything works normally.
We have FileVault enabled on 1200 JAMF managed machines. In our Sonoma test group, we saw this issue on 3 out of 264 machines. 1 was intel, 2 apple silicon.
Jamf is not the issue
Issue seem to be Macs on 14.0 that then updated to 14.1
Except we STARTED seeing this when going from 13.6 to 14.0.
We have both of our machines that run Sonoma having this issue. We are managed by JAMF, but not sure if that is relevant or not.
Safari 16.4.1 and MacOS 14.0 on one
Safari 17.1.2 and MacOS 14.1.2 on the other.
Currently happening to 2 Sonoma, M2, Macbooks. Has not affected any Intel Sonoma machines.
Reinstalling OS does not help long term. Newly formatted and installed Macbook had it start happening after 10-14 days of use.
We are using JAMF as well.
Reviewing other older threads about this issue has made us believe it is a problem with the WKWebView toolkit/class platform.

BLACK SCREEN. I also have a Mac mini pro 2023, M2, 32ram, 1 tb. I experienced already from few months ago the black screen which lasts about 5 seconds. I am using a 8k, 85 inch , Samsung tv. 2023.It happens in Safari when I open 4 to 6 windows with video content. Tried many things did not work. Few days ago tried Brave and all this did not happen again. Hope is only Safari that does this. I renounced Safari for the time being.
Try to Use safe mode on your Mac.
Have you restarted your computer?
Try opening Safari, while depressing and holding the "shift" key.
Since I'm not using Sonoma, I'll move on...perhaps someone who is will be able to help you.
The behavior is consistent in safe mode. I apologize for not including that earlier.
