iPhone 13 Pro: Only 3 Hours of Screen On Time
Hi,
My iPhone 13 Pro consistently gets only about 3 hours of screen on time and 1.5 hours screen off time. The phone is not even a year and a half old, and the battery health is 88%. While though the phone isn't new, I would expect at least 5 hours of screen on time, even though 6-7 hours should be possible.
I used to charge my iPhone to 100% and would unplug it right before going to sleep, using an Anker 511 Nano Pro 20W fast charger. I have recently switched to letting my iPhone charge overnight, now using Apple's 12W power adapter (the one that is shipped with iPads).
Some important information:
- Auto-brightness is enabled, but I also manually lower the brightness when the screen is brighter than it needs to be
- Background app refresh is completely disabled (both while on Wi-Fi and cellular)
- Location services are disabled for any app and system service that doesn't require it
- Notifications are disabled for any app that I don't need notifications from
- Raise to wake is disabled, but tap to wake is enabled
- My phone is on iOS 17.0.3 and I install new updates as soon as they are released
- The ProMotion 120 hertz refresh rate is on (I shouldn't have to disable "pro" features on a pro phone to save battery)
- I don't use low power mode too often, nor should I have to in order to get above 3 hours of screen on time
- Optimized battery charging is enabled
- I am not a heavy user of my phone; the most demanding task I do regularly is scroll through Instagram while also listening to Spotify (for a total about 20-30 minutes of this per day)
My questions now:
- What could be causing this?
- How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance.
