Macbook Pro 13 (Win7), iPhone 4 32GB (iOS4)
I personally find it super amuzing that we even have to discuss this simple thing that nowadays everyone has, except "the most advanced ios" in the world. And if I find it funny I cannot imagine how funny is it to the Samsung people or Nokia people or BB people or for that matter almost everyone who owns a phone on this planet other than iPhone.
It is an iPhone after all and as such it must have all the Phone functionality first and then all else. And this is the most basic functioanlity there is. I won't even get started on ability to tag contacts, group them in a way that makes more sense than to have 27 different groups (which btw takes ages to load on my mac during search and is also super hard to manage the more they get) and also syncing Facebook linked cards on all devices and also showing all contacts on a map, etc. etc. I know there are some apps that do some of the things but I want a great phone that does this things natively in a great way and all else comes on top.
We are falling so far behind on some super basic stuff, that I am wondering what is the point of having a Phone from Apple if all I have to think about is how to find a work around about something.
Ho anch'io questo problema, che con oltre 2000 contatti, quando mi chiama qualcuno, vedo solo il nome e non il nome dell'azienda, mettendomi in forte difficoltà a capire chi mi sta chiamando. Purtroppo mi sono imbattuto in questo forum, e mi sono pentito di aver appena acquistato un Iphone5....
Come al solito la Apple fa cose straordinarie e poi si perde in un bicchiere d'acqua. Per le chiamate in uscita posso usare un'applicazione di terzi, ABcontact, ma su quelle in entrata è una cosa a dir poco ridicola. E ha sentire le risposte del supporto Apple mi sconvolge.
If you change the tag for the type of device to the company name it works.
Its a workaround but hey...

Found a way by accident. I synced my contacts with iCloud, went to my address book on the computer and set the contact and checked the box for company and it's now listed as company on my iPhone.
I just found this ContactWhisper add on AppStore. What it does, it created pictures automatically for all your contacts so you can see who is calling you and from which company.
