Why is the find my iphone button gone from my apple watch after the new IOS was installed.
Have to go find my device app, look for my iphone icon, play sound (which takes over a minute to play the sound).
Please bring back the slide up from my apple watch and install the button back.

Thanks Bob,
Maybe you could review the function of some of the nonintuitive icons in the control center???? I'm going to google these but do most folks already know their function???? walkie-talkie, the crescent moon, connect a device............... Also , maybe you could clarify how texts and notifications work????
thanks
Maybe this would be helpful

The page goes through all the Control Center icons, what they are, with links to more details.

How do I change it back to the original availability?
There is no going back (at least at the moment). But you can tell Apple via
And if enough users send feedback asking for the same thing, it is mor likely it will reach a decision maker.
If no one sends any feedback, then it is almost certain that nothing will change.

The updates has been horrible… never again will I up date … I’m so unhappy with my watch now … even thinking about GIVING IT AWAY
Tell Apple
The more users that send feedback, the more likely it will reach a decision maker. The left/right swipe users got their feature back when the push back became great enough.
Never updating does not work in the long run, as eventually you will get a new iPhone, and that will require a newer version of watchOS. And not upgrading means you do not patch security vulnerabilities.

The find my phone function is literally the watch function that I have used most frequently since getting the watch. It’s actually one of the 2 functions why I even bothered to get the watch in the first place. Adding extra steps to find this function in buried menus was a TERRIBLE DECISION. I’m an Apple die-hard but this has become a daily infuriation, making me curse Apple every time I misplace my phone. PLEASE FIX THIS. Why the news app displaced it in that easy up-swipe I don’t know- who is actually reading long news stories on their watch face? Ridiculous.
Swipe-up vs press a button is the same number of steps. See other replies in this thread for details.
I am not going to argue that changing the UI after 10 years was a good idea, and it did catch a very large number of users by surprise, plus created a lot of frustration.

Although, polite, constructive feedback might be more effective 😁

Thank you so much. I was in a panic they took the feature away. I think it’s a dumb update, especially without notifying users. My daughter had a medical emergency and I couldn’t find my phone because they changed the location feature. I wish they wouldn’t mess with things that aren’t broken

And note to Apple: Please DON’T change the new way of opening the Control Center; the button is so much more convenient, not the least because I can open the Control Center from ANY APP CURRENTLY ON THE SCREEN, not just from a watch face.
Apple doesn't review these user-to-user forums for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

The method to access Control Center has changed.

You're preaching to the choir. Nonetheless, there are people who are upset by change. They are certainly entitled to feel however they feel.
Like many, I am frustrated that the up swipe to locate my iPhone is gone —how can I find the spot in another place ??

Yes exactly scrolling through all the apps why did Apple do this??
Why would you scroll through all the app to get to the iPhone ping icon in the Control Center?
”Hey Siri, find my iPhone”
is much simpler.
Or pressing the flat oval side button
Why scroll at all, when you have these easy to access ping your iPhone options?
Thank you, thank you thank you! I, like the rest of you hated this new upgrade. Thank you so much for showing us where to find it! This response is for the person who said to press the bar below the crown. Of course, after I signed in, I could not find that post again, but whoever you are, thank you so much!
it would be nice if Apple would make us aware of how to find that part of the app again. I use find my phone all the time.

Updates seem to happen much more frequently and a lot of changes occur.
Major updates in the watchOS happen once a year. I would suggest that next year, you wait to update and spend some time poking about the forums, seeing what people are saying before updating.
