No sound on FaceTime Live Photos

My FaceTime photos used to record sound. Now they don’t? Regular Live Photos I take with my camera work, but not FaceTime photos anymore

Hi Dlryan1273,

We want to help with your FaceTime Live Photos.

Are you able to capture the Live Photos in FaceTime at all, but it's just the audio that isn't working?

Try going to Settings > FaceTime, and ensure that FaceTime Live Photos are turned on. Turn it off and back on if necessary.

Make sure you aren't connected to any Bluetooth or other headsets or speakers when this is happening.

Let us know if you can test FaceTime Live Photos after that:

Take a Live Photo in FaceTime on iPhone

Let's also make sure that when you are viewing the Live Photo that your iPhone volume is turned up and the iPhone is not on silent:

Adjust the volume on iPhone

I’m able to take them, there’s just no audio when I watch them back.

I’ve tried all the steps you suggested and still no audio.

  • Made sure my volume was on and up.
  • Went Into settings toggled off FaceTime live photos then back on again.
  • No Bluetooth or speakers connected when I tried again.
  • checked the photo after in the edit settings and volume was on.
  • did a hard reset
