I am having the same problem on an Intel MacMini 8,1. My internal speakers are not recognised, nor are my speakers and mic on my Apple Led Cinema Display or my Bose external speakers connected via USB from my LED Display. Neither is my camera recognised on the LED Display.

And coincidentally Sonoma's much lauded wallpaper just shows as a white screen for all except non-non-photograhic static backgrounds such as Ventura or Montana.

Sonoma 14.1.1 appears to have a major number of issues.

Hello Hout007,

We would like to see how we can help you with your videos not playing as expected. Are you having this issue with all apps, or only one specific app? Check out the steps in this link and get back to us with your results: If the internal speakers on your Mac aren't working - Apple Support

"Check your sound settings

First, disconnect any cables from the USB, Thunderbolt, or 3.5mm audio ports on your Mac.

  1. From the Apple menu , choose System Settings (or System Preferences).
  2. Click Sound.
  3. Click the Output tab, then select the built-in speakers. If you don’t see built-in speakers as an option in the Output window, contact Apple Support.
  4. If the Output volume slider is set low, move the slider to the right and test again.
  5. If the Mute checkbox is selected, deselect it and test again.
  6. If you still don’t hear any sound, contact Apple Support."

Cheers!

Reinstall the macOS:

Speakers are hardware that is part of the device. They need drivers to be seen and run. So, you need to reinstall the macOS to get these drivers and fix any bugs in the macOS. Nothing would be lost. It's just that misplaced items would be placed back to where they should be and corrupt system files would be replaced by clean files.

Getting Macintosh Speak and Video Working:

Reinstall the macOS:

It may have been an unsuccessful install (which is what a reinstall is intended to fix). Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be, respectively. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support

Important:

Create a Time Machine Backup, First:

Prior to the re-installation of your macOS, be certain to backup your Mac using a Time Machine Backup. That way, you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Use an external hard drive that is at least 1.5 the total storage capacity.

For anyone who still needs it, I just updated two days ago and it my wifi stopped working (connected but safari times out) I reran the update two more time amongst other things and then my sound stopped working altogether.

long story short, I had erase all content and settings (factory reset) and now my computer is working as intended. So either use Time Machine or drop your important items in the cloud and factory reset
