Is it possible to use an Elgato video capture device with a MacBook Pro to digitise old VHS Video(uk) -as I don't think these devices have/use a THUNDERBOLT/USB4 connection that's on the MacBook Pro ?? OR.... is anyone aware of alternative/s ??

The problem I found with digitizing VHS is it worked best real time. Considering I had maybe 500 hours of tapes, I abandoned the project.
For the cable, likely all you need is the appropriate passthrough adapter. Not a hub or dock. The adapter you need depends on the ports on the capture device. If it has RCA type input/output you'll have to obtain the proper cable adapters for that.

The Elgato model I've seen on both Amazon etc. only has a USB2.0 connection.
