I am having issues with bluetooth dropping the connection in my car and air pods pro since I upgraded my phone to iphone 15 PM and IOS 17.0.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. this is my main phone and I can't take the chance of having unstable IOS build on it. Any suggestions or better yet can apple just make something that works as it should for $1200 thanks!

It is definitely not a software issue. My 13 Pro Max is working fine over Bluetooth and so is my iPhone XR from work. The only device where Bluetooth is dropping is my iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Try updating your phone. Updates fixes bugs and issues with your iPhone. 100% recommended that you update your iPhone. Hope this helps.
I have a 13PM that experience the Bluetooth issue in all 17.X. Also have a 15PM that is not running 17 working without Bluetooth issues.
IOS 17.2.1 released today, 19 of December. I am on business trip, so not close to my devices “offended”, any improvement for you?
17.3 (bta) seems to have fixed the problem for me
@DaveOJr, @nslattery, can you confirm how long into a call your connection drops in the car? I assume it reconnects?
If that’s your case that doesn’t find any BT, why you don’t go to the Apple Store to see what they say? If they can’t find any BT, they have to do something with you.
Common factor for me:

It’s not just Iphone 15PM, the issue is present on older versions also. I have Iphone12, Mom 10, SIL 15, Bro 15PM. We all have the same issues.
Just finished 20 minutes drive. Used calls and google maps navigation at the same time. No disconnection. WiFi turned off.
Exactly the same issue on my 15PM at exactly the same mall (Chadstone, VIC). Only had it occur once before and it resolved itself rather quickly but it seems to refuse to work in Chadstone after numerous restarts! Wonder if it’s something to do with overwhelming Bluetooth traffic at this specific location?
It simply disgusts me that Apple ruined the bluetoioth BT Audio Player on my automobile! (Again) on a major number update and new iPhone 15 P M. It is a $1300 phone. My iPhone 7+ did the same thing some years back and they did something on my phone to fix it.
Having iPhone 15 PM issues connecting meaningfully with my bluetooth wireless keyboards.
I say "meaningfully"....because I can pair/connect the keyboard, but I have to hold down a character key for 2 secs at least, to see the character appear in the text box. Not very conducive to fast typing.
Hoping for a fix.
I've already installed 17.0.3, and passed an apple support phone sharing troubleshooting session.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've done all of what you suggested, ha provider has no know issues with this device. As I posted, they worked perfectly until the IP15 upgrade. Have wrestled with this for two weeks and nothing seems to work. Too many intermittent problems with the way they connect and don't connect.
