Bluetooth issues on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.0.3

I am having issues with bluetooth dropping the connection in my car and air pods pro since I upgraded my phone to iphone 15 PM and IOS 17.0.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. this is my main phone and I can't take the chance of having unstable IOS build on it. Any suggestions or better yet can apple just make something that works as it should for $1200 thanks!

I’m up to date on iOS 17.1.2 and still having Bluetooth issues. It’s nearly impossible to use Bluetooth in my car at this point.

last couple of days I was on the road and I had chance to test connection in the car. When I have regular calls in most cases connection doesn't loose. I also used sygic navigation app on the phone and every time the app make notification the connection broke and I have to connect manually. the same is with google maps navigation app or with calls via WhatsApp.

I think you would do worse than to print this thread out and stick it on a notice board in their staff canteen.

A number of folks on here have had calls with engineers, including myself, and get short thrift from them.

Over 1,500 folks on this thread said me too, so if that’s just 1% of the user base, that’s potentially a big number of disgruntled users on calls to support being told to reset their phones.

Same here. For someone who depends on bluetooth for their everyday hearing using iPhone this is a disaster as my hearing aids also worked flawlessly before update. Crackling and switching between aids are now a common problem. One which I can do without. Paired them to my mates Samsung phone and they work flawlessly. So come on Apple this is a very important accessibility issue for us that depend on this technology or do you not care or understand these issues

I hear you on jumping ship. After getting a call while in my cat yesterday I was able to speak for about 30-50 seconds then it went haywire AGAIN! The sound cuts out, the car unit locks up, and the junk 15PM locks up, when I attempt to switch to the iPhone to continue the call it takes way too long for it to respond. This phone is an absolute piece of garbage that Apple knows full well it has a problem but because the problem will cause financial issues as well as a negative reputation, they are not publicly acknowledging it. I refuse to believe that they are not working on a solution. It would be crazy if they just ignored this. FYI - I’m on the latest software release.

This issue being present for so long and never fixed i’m also thinking of finally quitting the Apple community.

Im still on iphone 12 as i didn’t feel the need to upgrade yet, Bro on iphone 15Pro Max, SIL Iphone15. We all have this issue and makes it’s extremely annoying as everything is now bluetooth connected and controlled.

Now this bluetooth issue has been present for more than a year!

And nowadays keyboard issues that lags the keyboard 10 times.

I’m going to switch to Samsung and never looking back when it will be time to change my phone to a newer one.

RIP old ways of Iphone you will be missed.

Back in the days developers did their job seriously and apple paid more attention to the community issues and were fixing the bugs.

Now it’s just starting to be a joke and Apple doesn’t even care as they will still make money even if they lose some customers.

I called the senior Apple advisor last week for the last time. He refused to help me until I updated to v17.3. I said no because I was afraid of more problems. He said if he did he'd forward my case to Engineering, but would not until I updated. I asked if Apple developers were working on a fix and knew about this bluetooth issue. He said he didn't know what the developers did as they don't communicate releases, so we know when they do. I asked him how many people he's dealt with over this same bluetooth issue. He said zero. I asked if he was serious and then anything further would have been snarky (such as, "is this your first day?") so I disconnected with him.

I tried answering you Andy but of course, the great cover-up happening and they pulled my reply. I have no idea why. Bottom line, I don't use FaceTime, and an hour ago I tried wired CarPlay with Bluetooth switched off and it was a failure. Call quality is so bad you can't have a conversation. Had the caller call me back and still the same results. Apple lightning cable with Apple lightning to USB-c adapter. Big failure! When do we get answers????!!!! $1300 paperweight that is only able to make calls with the phone itself. ZERO hands-free ability!

Rest assured you aren't going mad - your response appeared in my inbox before was deleted. Agree with all that you said.

Very poor show.

My household has four iPhones, two macbooks, two iMacs, plus a plethora of Apple services costing us £/$s per month. I, you, we are but a few customers but speaking for myself, I also have an android device through work, windows laptop and a chromebook. They all work just fine.

Apple need customers like us more than we need paperweights.

Get the word out there on channels they don't control.

I also have 4 iPhones, 27" iMac, 13" MacBook Pro, a New MacBook Air, 4 AppleTVs, 2 iPads, 4 Apple watches, 2 original HomePods, 2 Airpod Pros, and numerous AirTags, and I run everything in my house off of HomeKit. Not to also mention paying every month for Apple One for the family. All my other Apple products work flawlessly except my brand-new 15Pro Max. Beyond frustrating!

At this point i’m 100% sure they just don’t care…. I’m on 17.3 and i wanna break my phone every time i try to listen to music on speakers or when i talk on the phone with my headphones connected.

I don’t wanna believe none of the developers at Apple don’t have iPhones and saw the freakin bluetooth problem. Most likely don’t even know how to fix the problem so instead they cover it up with “oh we didn’t know of the issue as nobody complained”. Or maybe the developers really don’t have iphones so that would be a big sign for us.

Unfortunately for car only by cable will work without any cuts. No bluetooth.

I have already been extremely annoyed off at Apple when my airpods pro came with a fabrication defect and they refused to change them with the excuse that the issue was fixed before my airpods left the fabrication facility and i just stared at them and said “well it seems you didn’t do a good job at fixing it seeing that i’m in front of you with the exact issue you said you fixed”. And yeah i’m still left with a broken left airpod cus i didn’t want to give them any more $$.

So far it seems not everyone in the world has this issue. Perhaps it is related to a specific Bluetooth chipset in some iPhone models (no matter the year), Apple uses sources the components from different suppliers (for example the screens can be provided by Samsung or LG), so maybe, the problem lies in the Bluetooth chip that some iPhones have and poor regression testing not done in iPhones with these chips.

Otherwise the whole internet will be on fire.

In the other side, has anyone been able to test the iOS 17.4 or 17.3.1 betas related to this problem?
