Bluetooth issues on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.0.3

I am having issues with bluetooth dropping the connection in my car and air pods pro since I upgraded my phone to iphone 15 PM and IOS 17.0.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. this is my main phone and I can't take the chance of having unstable IOS build on it. Any suggestions or better yet can apple just make something that works as it should for $1200 thanks!

I’m up to date on iOS 17.1.2 and still having Bluetooth issues. It’s nearly impossible to use Bluetooth in my car at this point.

Hello 🙋🏻‍♀️,

I’ve only had my iPhone 15 Pro Max for 9 days. I’m headed to Verizon today. I’m likely going to RETURN IT if my only other choice is to live with these Bluetooth issues. I use a few critical apps that I’m unable to use at this time due to the Bluetooth issues.

PLEASE CONFIRM IF YOU KNOW THAT LIVING WITH THESE ISSUES IS MY ONLY OPTION as of JANUARY 28, 2024.

Also comment if your experience with Verizon is that they will fix this issue SOON. I’ve personally never had issues with Verizon or Apple phones. This is a first for me. I’ve had an iPhone since the 3!

I traded in my perfectly fine iPhone X for the 15 Pro Max because I’ve run out of time. This current promotion could end any day now. When it does I’ll lose the opportunity to get $450 for my X.

I’ve been with Verizon for over 20 years, only leaving for one year to go to AT&T during that time.

I expect far more from Verizon for the amount of time and money I have invested in this company.

Thank you for any answers or helpful comments.

My 12 pro max was having this issue and I couldn’t fix it. It would intermittently cut out and back in when playing music through Bluetooth. The phone ended up shattering itself and I had it replaced through AppleCare. The drive home from Apple is about two hours and my Bluetooth didn’t cut out once. Replacing the phone fixed the issue for me.

New issue as of today and latest update: wired CarPlay no longer works in my wife’s 2017 VW Tiguan with my 15 PM. Tried everything i could to get it to work. I then plugged in my wife‘s regular iPhone 15 with 17.3 installed and it works as it should. My son‘s 14 Pro Max (my previous phone) works as well. I’m just so done!

And this is Apple's grand plan. Mine is an iPhone 11, and since I updated to iOS 17.2.1 the connection ceased with my car's UConnect system. I don't have Apple CarPlay. My other family member's older iphones (with pre-iOS 17) updates still work fine on my vehicle's bluetooth/UConnect system. The Apple Senior rep told me I'd have to replace my CAR if I expected to keep updating my iPhones over time.

Same for me with my iPhone 11. I think the common issue is the update to iOS 17+. My other family members have older iPhones but older iOS' and they can still connect to my car's UConnect system without problem. I'm the only one having the problem, and it literally started the first time I started up the car after the iOS 17.2.1 update.

Good info Andy! The cable is a lightning with the $29 Apple lightning to USB c adapter. Has worked fine since September in my wife's car on both my 15PM and her 15. I wish it was as simple as a cable but it is just another failure by Apple with this not ready for prime time paperweight. I'll try another apple branded lightning cable to see if it makes any difference. Would be nice if they came out with a USB C that works for carplay.

iPhone 11 Pro was working fine with my 2017 Jeep UConnect Bluetooth system until the 17.2.1 iOS update.

Immediately after my phone connects for a few seconds then gets kicked off. The only way to maintain the Bluetooth connection is to manually repair my phone every time, which is tedious.

My kid’s older iPhones with older iOS work fine on my UConnect Bluetooth.

Senior Apple rep tried telling me I’d need to update my radio. When I told her I already took it to dealership and they said there weren’t any available software updates, she said eventually I’d need to get a newer Bluetooth system with a car.

Now, my brand new hearing aids will not work at all with the blue tooth. I went to the hearing aid doctor, told him the problem, and he said, "Let me guess, you own an iPhone Pro or Pro-Max." I told him yes, and he said that I was not alone and that Apple was ignoring the problem. On a side note, I noticed Apple sent me an ad for a German Hearing aid that I know about, which is a piece of garbage. I would hate to think the two are linked.

My iPhone 15 is on latest IOS 17.3. I replaced my Turntable and CD player with Yamaha WXC- 50 streaming device to my high-end stereo system. I stream Pandora and Sirus/XM to the Yamaha device and the Bluetooth either cuts out for a few seconds, or disconnects completely, where I have to reconnect. It has disturbed my listening experience. Yamaha has a software called MusicCast. to connect. There are no issues on that end.

This bluetooth problem is consistent and crosses numerous devices. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the latest update is driving me crazy. I have to restart my phone constantly. You have to do it with the (stupid) PhoneLink (Windows OS, and a horrible app that I'm removing, but I learned this by accident.), my Bose headphones, my car (UConnect), and ANY other Bluetooth device. It's clearly been caused by an update. Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiix it. You broke it, now fix it.

The Bluetooth starts working immediately upon restart. I thought this was a problem just with my car, but now I see that is ALL bluetooth devices.

I WILL say that it's NEVER happened with my Apple airpod pros. Never. That's a bit strange, and I think that there is a technical detail in there that is probably meaningful to someone (engineers). I've never had a Bluetooth connection problem with them, but I use them nearly every day, but every single other device is a mess.

I don't know if anyone has a workaround or a fix (some sort of rollback????), but help would be a blessing.
