Phone App has "Carrier" voice mail that I cannot delete

We found that the issue is that there are AT&T plans that don't include Visual Voicemail. Plans without Visual Voicemail will cause Carrier Voicemail to display in the Voicemail tab on iPhones. These plans are listed similar to

Business Advanced for iPhone vs. Business Advanced for iPhone w/ VVM . The 2nd plan has Visual Voicemail and will not show Carrier Voicemail. As soon as our phones were switched to the correct plan Carrier Voicemail disappeared. Our issue first appeared after a requested plan change. Our account manager put the phones onto the wrong plan.

Many thanks! This was the solution for me (turning off live voicemail, restarting phone, and then turning live voicemail back on). The "Carrier" link started appearing after I was overseas for a week with a different sim card in the phone. The solution above made the link go away as desired. Thanks.

Try this:

Go to Voicemail and press Call. It will ask you for your digit password and then to press pound. It should play your messages. To erase each message, press 7.

On my phone, it never shows if I have messages, so I have to periodically repeat the above steps to clear out my voicemail messages, or my mailbox becomes full.

Just had this issue! Fixed it by listening to the voicemessage system. It will take you to a menu where you can change your voicemail notification. You need to enable a voice message notification before you can disable the on screen voice message notification (which is what this annoying notification on your main screen is). Then press the right number (for me it was 3) to disable the on screen voice message notification. And voila! It cleared it!

Go to Settings > Cellular > Used as “Secondary” > Turn on this Line > set to off

I figured out how to clear the voicemail.

Go to Settings and select Phone. Scroll down until you see Live Voicemail. If it is on, turn it to off.

After that, turn off your phone for about 20 seconds to reset.

Turn it back on and the voicemail should be cleared.

That worked for me.

This happened to me when I got my new phone. This is how I solved it.

Go to Settings and scroll down to Phone. Then scroll down to Live Voicemail. If it shows On, turn it Off. It should take away the Carrier message.

Listen to it. When it is over you will hear instructions on how to save or delete it.

Then contact your carrier and ask them why visual voicemail isn’t working. It is their responsibility.

Deactivate phone notifications and reactivate them 3 times, then restart phone, worked for me

I had a voice mail that I could not retrieve in order to erase it on my IPhone 8. I don’t have a voice mail option in my settings so I tried turning my phone off for a few minutes and then after turning it back on I could retrieve my voicemail to erase it. Thank you for both tips!☺️

If you’re subscribed to GoogleFi for your carrier service, go to the GoogleFi app and check voicemails there. It doesn’t get rid of the annoying “1” red notification badge on the app, but it does remove the blue dot AND the “1” on the voicemail button in the Phone app.

I have the same thing going on 1 voice with a blue dot that says carrier voice mail but when I call mine it says nothing at all. And no way to delete only call but again it has nothing on it. Did you fix your problem if so maybe I could try the samw

I tried this but it didn't work for me. I was able to call the carrier after they rest my voicemail 5 times and days later it finally went away but it's back again and still will not let me call my voicemail

All voicemail is “carrier” voicemail. Contact your carrier for help with it.
