Red time on phone

Why does the time turn red when charging phone. I was charging my phone and i shook it setting it down and the time was red

It appears your iPhone went into StandBy mode which lets you see information from a distance while its charging. There are several ways to turn on StandBy mode, and you can review those ways here: Use StandBy to view information at a distance while iPhone is charging.
