i synced my phone to an apple watch, that was previously my mothers, and now i have access to her apple wallet and her contact photo (in my phone) is the photo used for my account as well. her wallet doesn’t update, so i have no access to her newer cards. however, it’s really inconvenient when trying to access my own cards.

she is a “guardian” on our family account and the only way we’ve been able to solve the issue is by removing me from the family. this is also a major inconvenience due to storage and subscriptions.

is there any way to unmerge our accounts other than removing me from the family? any advice is appreciated, tia.

Each Apple device is linked/associated with an Apple ID of the person who did the setup.

The previous owner - in your case is your mother, she has to read -> this Apple article: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Apple Watch, or buy one from someone else

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Apple Watch, or buy one from someone else - Apple Support (IE)

Then she has to remove the Apple Watch from her account, see this Apple article:

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

Check your Apple ID device list to find where you're signed in - Apple Support

Then you can pair the Apple Watch with your iPhone.
