IPhone 15 Pro rings once and goes to Voicemail

Ever since I got the IPhone 15 Pro, I’ve had dropped calls every day. I am also having the issue of ringing once and going to VM. I can be holding my phone and once it rings, it goes away before I can answer. YES, silent mode is turned off. NO, they aren’t blocked. I’m decently tech savvy, so I’ve tried most everything. Another issue: even when it’s not on silent mode, sometimes the ring tone doesn’t play. Another issue: my haptics aren’t working every time. And again, yes I have them turned on to always play. Apple what is going on???? HELP!

Hey there, the responses on here didn’t help. (No offense) I tried everything too. I was turning things on and off, resetting, and then finally I called Apple and then my provider and they switched me to a new ESIM, and I haven’t had an issue since. It was frustrating because I did everything. Even reset it to factory and had to let everything re-download and re-sign into everything as apple had advised. I’m not sure if it helps but play with your notifications and just switch everything on and off. Don’t delete the ESIM though. lol. Not until you talk to your provider at least. Still several other glitches I’m experiencing and honestly these general replies usually don’t help. Hopefully this helps you.

Hi Danays,

If you haven't done so yet, restart your iPhone. Although simple, this step can help correct some unexpected issues. It's also a good idea to make sure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version, since this can help with overall performance: Update your iPhone or iPad

If an update is available, be sure to create a backup before installing it.

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If the calling issue isn't resolved, there are some additional steps that may be helpful in this resource: If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone

If these issues continue, reach out to Apple Support directly so they can look into this with you further. They can be contacted here: Get Support or by calling the most applicable phone number from this list: Contact Apple for support and service.

Regards.

It has everything to do with the number of rings. But that's OK if you don't want to take my advice. There is NO setting on your iPhone which can change this. Carriers deliver phone calls and carriers determine the number of rings.

BTW., I had the same issue with AT&T at one time. A simple call to them to ask them to increase the time for my phone to ring, was the solution. But again, you don't have to believe me at all.

As lobsterghost1 correctly said, the very fact that it rang once means it is not going straight to voicemail, it is timing out. Cell calls are usually set to time out after a number of seconds with a max of 30 seconds.

The very fact that the other line rings clinches it.

I’ve had this exact same issue since I got my 15 pro max, I’ve reset network settings, did a entire clean install, turned roaming on and off and talked to the carrier support more than a half dozen times. I don’t know if the phone is defective or it’s a software glitch (updated to latest iOS) I’m even dropping calls and going to direct to voicemail on WiFi ..very frustrating.. any update on yours?

Thank you for the reply. Yes I have restarted my phone, it has been updated to 17.0.3, and I have backed it up. It’s happens in waves. I do make sure my WiFi is off. I have resent my network settings as well once. Just may be a bug? Not sure.

I do have one other trying issue with every new phone that you may insight on.

I have about 10K old photos that I keep from older iphones on a USB. I synced them via iTunes many years ago into my phone so that I can have them. (My mother and father both passed, and it’s important for me to keep these on my phone) But if I turn on ICloud Photos, it removes them. I’d like to have the best of both worlds, possibly I’m doing something wrong, but I have tried numerous things. Any insight to this as well would be great. As of right now I have 38K photos in my camera roll (Photogragher on the side incase anyone is like what the heck? lol) And the 10K or so I put in via ITunes. So I have plenty of storage and I use a 1TB size phone.

Thanks in advance.

Danays,

Thanks. If you're experiencing unexpected behavior with iOS, you can report this at Apple's feedback website or contact Apple Support:

Get Support

In regards to your photos, if you sync with iTunes, you're doing exactly that--your iPhone synchronizes photos with your computer. If you then enable iCloud Photos, this sync will be removed.

Sync photos in iTunes on PC with devices - Apple Support

If you'd like to import your photos directly onto your iPhone, you can do this: Import and export photos and videos on iPhone - Apple Support

If you choose to use iCloud Photos, it can sync photos on all of your devices. Once photos are imported onto your device, they'd sync from iPhone. Or, you can upload your photos to iCloud and then enable iCloud Photos on your iPhone to synchronize them.

Use iCloud Photos on iCloud.com - Apple Support

Set up and use iCloud Photos on your Windows PC - Apple Support

That should help.

Take care.
