Provided USB-C Charging Cable sticky after unboxing. (Never used before)

Greetings,

I just wanted someone from Apple know that my new provided charging cable of my M1 Macbook Air is sligtly sticky and has some sort of resedue on it.

Not sure if its visible but I can feel it on my hands after touching the cable.

I'm not angry, but it shouldn't be that way after buying a computer for over 1.000€ , right?

Greetings from Germany.

"I just wanted someone from Apple know..."

Apple is not here and does not monitor these forums. We are users like yourself here and are not Apple employees. If you are concerned about the charging cable take it to an Apple Store or authorized Apple service provider for examination. You also have 14 days to return your MacBook for a full refund, no questions asked.

You're Fine. It's probably no more than the tape or plastic that was on it to conceal it.

You buy groceries and you have to put them away; your nose runs and you wipe it ... things just don't care themselves and a 5 second little trick is not an indication of capitulation. There are just some teeny weeny insignificant little battles I choose not to fight.

If you can rub it on your tender body parts it's not exactly strong.

But you did ask a worldwide forum, 8 billion people potentially, on what to do and you got opinions you can certainly ignore. Well, two so far.

We currently have five Macs, I'm well aware of unboxing "anomalies".

Yes.

I quote what I think backs up the point that I am trying to make. If I find two sections being synonymous (usually by vocabulary: same wors(s) or synonyms), then I keep that part out my answer (because I think it is a waste space to quote). You've already mentioned abut it being "sticky" in your title. So, I do not put things twice. It's the way I author my posts.
