The bends you see now are fairly normal with use, but preventing them from getting worse is a good idea. The cable itself has a tough outer jacket, but constant stress in the same spots will eventually cause cracks or fraying. Once the internal wires are exposed or damaged, charging reliability and even safety can be compromised.
Using a spiral cable wrap is one option, and it does help distribute stress more evenly along the cord. However, I’d recommend something a bit softer and less rigid, like a silicone cable protector or braided sleeve. These add cushioning without creating stiff points. More importantly, focus on how you store and use the charger: avoid wrapping it too tightly around the power brick, and instead use loose loops. Also, when unplugging, grab the connector head instead of tugging on the cable itself. If you’re mostly worried about portability, a small cable organizer pouch will keep it from getting kinked in your bag.
