How to update my iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 16?

I need to update my device to iOS 17 so I can watch cat videos on YouTube. The model number of my device is H1000. Please advise.

The App Store Preview pages for the iPhone versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint say that these apps require iOS 16.0 or later. You are free to contact Microsoft and ask them to release versions of their apps that will run on iOS 15.8, but I rather doubt that they are going to do so.

If you have an iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 16 is not "your" update. iOS 15.8 (or whatever other security point release that Apple might choose to make in the future) is "your" update.

If you have an iPhone 7, you can update it to iOS 15.8, but you CANNOT update it further to iOS 16.

Go to Settings > General > Software Update and you are offered the opportunity to update to iOS 15.8, choose update. You need to be connected to Wifi and its advisable to be plugged in.

If you want an iPhone which can run higher than 15.8, then you need to buy a newer, more modern iPhone.

The iPhone 7 Plus will never run iOS 16 or above. It sounds like you're telling us that you need a new iPhone.

Note that new iPhones sold today will probably have some version of iOS 17 installed. (The iPhone 15 family certainly will.)

If you need or want to use the app, buy a new iPhone. The fact is NOT going to change that an nearly 9 year old iPhone 7 will NEVER update further. And as time goes on, more app developers will drop support for apps on iOS 15

Nope. Not happening. Yet newer iPhones have been de-supported from yet newer iOS.
