I can't change the keyboard layout (keyboard input language) in Launchpad
Briefly about the problem:
The essence of the problem is that I switch the input language using the "Option + Space" key combination. This works in all applications, however it does not work in Launchpad (as I mentioned above, starting with the oldest versions of systems).
Please take this problem into account, because for me, as for many other people, including those who described this problem in the community, this is important. And in the recently released macOS 14.0, this problem is still relevant, which is extremely critical for me and leaves a negative experience from using the macOS operating system.
Reproduction steps:
- Now my keyboard language is Russian.
2. I open Lanchpad and starting write something.
3. In fact, here I wrote the word "Apple" on the Russian keyboard. However, I can't switch to English while I'm in Launchpad. The keyboard shortcut to switch keyboard layouts does not work at this time.
4. After that, I exit the Launchpad and press the Option + Space key combination to change the layout to English, it works like everywhere else, except for the Launchpad.
5. And then, I launch the Launchpad again in order to find the application I need in a different language.
In the end, in order to change the input language when searching for an application in the Launchpad, I need to close it every time, switch the language and open it again. The problem seems very simple, but when I encountered it again in the latest operating system macOS 14.0 (the reproduction steps indicated above were performed exactly on this version), it gave me a negative experience and disgust at what Apple has been doing lately. Please open a ticket to solve this problem and take it into account, since it has existed since the first versions of the system.
Also, this same problem was mentioned much earlier (here: How can i change language in launchpad. - Apple Community), but, apparently, was ignored in terms of its solution.
