Could just be my overactive imagination but the whole situation seems incredibly sketchy. How could an iOS update either,
A.) Glitch the phone out to detect critical water damage.
B.) Make preexisting water damage destroy the phone.
C.) only glitch some phones to completely break to where Apple must give you an entire new phone.
None of those really make sense, and it makes me thing that Apple put out a bad update, possibly to generate revenue, and is trying to cover their tracks by claiming the phone is water damaged. Again I’ve never even submerged the phone in water. If it was truly water damage, then these phones need to be reinspected for their water resistance because I did nothing outside of the parameters of their advertised water resistance. That or they just boldfaced lied to me. Genuinely been debating about switching phones because of this. No real explanation, no real cause other than a faulty update. The phone I have now is running on iOS 17.0.3 completely smoothly, so it really doesn’t make any sense unless it was manipulation on Apple’s part.
