Where can I find drivers for HP printers compatible with Sonoma?

My old HP printer quit connecting with the new Sonoma 14 update on my I-Mac. After finding the HP community site it appears double jeopardy: Sonoma 14 doesn't work for HP printers and HP doesn't have drivers above 13. (Actually, I could only find 11.)

As statements on the net aren't always true, just wondering is anyones HP printer working on Apple after upgrading to Sonoma 14? If so, where did you find your driver, please?

Mine is by USB connection.

thanks!

I followed instructions found via this link.

https://machow2.com/hp-laserjet-drivers-mac/

Downloaded this from Apple:

HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update

Somewhere in between, had to also download Rosetta to enable Intel software to run on newer silicon chip.

After downloading the above printer software update, I was able to install the HP printer and it found the driver successfully.

Still can't get it to scan though. If anyone else had success getting an HP All in One to scan properly, please do share.

The effective difference after this success between macos 13.x and 14.x is that in the dock I no longer have the specific printer but instead have "print centre" (or what ever the spelling is of your MacOS language). Printer center (or centre) shows a list of all print devices but is effectively the same for me when it comes to the HP printer.

You can use Print Center's "Printer -> Add to Dock" menu item to put specific printers in the dock.

Hope this is helpful.

After steps 1)-4) I could print again. But not scan. Then I tried steps 5) & 6)

But when I deleted the printer and added it again it was the same as before.

But my problem with a network connected LaserJet Pro 500 is different: I can start a print job. The job shows up in the print cue but the cue goes immediately in a "halted" or "waiting" state (using German macOS - don't know how this is translated in English) from which it never recovers.

My workaround: Save document as pdf in iCloud and print from iPhone with the current OS. Works, but is not what I think is a good workflow.

The printer worked perfectly for many years until Sonoma came.

Apple needs to fix it!!!!

Someone any ideas?
