Broken keys on my iPhone XS Max, help me!😥

My iPhone keys are not working properly if I try to type my backspace and “L” key won’t work they only work if my phone is sideways. My phone model is an iPhone XS Max and I don’t have data if that means anything 🥲 . This is not my first problem as when I type while my phone is charging it types random keys. My mom’s old phone broke, it was fully charged and her battery was draining really quickly, it died and won’t come back on! (She also had an iPhone XS Max) I’m worried my phone will get worse or end up like my mom’s! Send tips/help please! P.S I’ve tried turning the phone all the way off and back on—didn't work 😥

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We recommend starting with the steps in the following guide for when you're having display issues: If your screen isn't working - Apple Support

If those steps don't help, do the same areas of your display also not work in other apps? If so, you'll want to look into service for your iPhone. To look into service options, start here: iPhone Repair & Service - Apple Support

You also mention when you're charging that random letters appear. Try using a different cable to see if that's what is possibly causing the issue. We hope this helps.
