Hi everyone,
I'm working on a long project and just checked in on the backup folder in movies to check that FCP has a recent backup and saw that it has not. backed up for over a week and so has missed 7 days work.
Does anyone know why that might be ? I haven't changed the backup location , is there an option to switch off backing up I might have inadvertently chosen?

How long are you using FCPX at one sitting?
Could try to delete pref files. Launch FCPX while holding down Opt+Cmd at the same time, gives you the option to do that.
Also, delete all render files for that Library helped once when I had this issue a couple years ago.
If you hover your mouse over the Backup section in the Inspector for a Library you will see the file path to confirm wherever the Backups are currently going.
Select a Library>Storage Locations>Modify Settings:

If you have checked and verified all the suggestions above, I’d think about loading a fresh copy of FCPro to your Mac.

Hi Ben, usually for about 1.5 hours per sitting 2 or 3 times a day. Ok I'll try those suggestions, thanks !
Hi Al , thanks for the reply, yes thats what I find puzzling, I can see where they are supposed to be but they are not there !
