I can't send photos through iChat/Messages to certain people?

I traded my iPhone 13mini in for an iPhone 14pro recently. We got an iPhone 14 pro for our son too. My wife has a fairly new Samsung. Before this switch I had no problem sending pictures through iChat to anyone and now I can't send them to my wife. I had no problem doing this before. I've checked every setting and done every little suggestion from this community and others and still no luck. This isn't just an idea meandering problem. she helps me mange my carpentry business and I need to send her pictures of the rod sometimes and ask for materials to be brought to the site.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

Hello johnsiphone4610,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you are unable to text images to a Samsung device. If so, we'd like to help out. When you try to send a message to an non-iPhone device, that message will not be sent as an iMessage. It will go out as a regular SMS text message. This resource does explain more: What is the difference between iMessage and SMS/MMS? - Apple Support

You can check your Messages settings to see if MMS is turned on:

1.) Go to Settings > Messages.

2.) Make sure that both Send as SMS and MMS Messaging are enabled.

If you're still unable to send MMS text messages, try contacting your carrier to confirm any any changes to your SMS plan have been made.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Take care.
