How can I change the default alarm sound when I ask Siri to make an alarm for me?

Your suggestion doesn’t address the problem. We all know how to set a new alarm with a new tone. Your solution doesn’t reset the default. But you hanks for trying.

Doesn’t work when you try to set an alarm with Siri. Always defaults to radar. Only if you set it manually through the clock app will the default be what you set it too

This seems to only work if you are manually entering alarms.

If you tell Siri to create an alarm for you, it continues to use the radial sound effect.

The_Farmer Once you set an alarm manually or with Siri, do a manual edit to set the tone. Be sure you hit save.

if your alarm is set for 8:00 AM, it will be saved when you shut it off. If you need an alarm to milk the cows at 3:00 PM tell Siri to turn on your 8:00 AM alarm. (“TURN ON” is the key to keep your chosen tone.)

Then tell Siri, “Change my 8:00 AM alarm to 3:00 PM.”

It's annoying because you need to remember when your alarms are set so you can move them. I hope Apple fires the dipstick who screwed this up.

I am also hearing impaired, and I cannot wake up to the new default alarm tone. I need it to be abrupt and loud. I pulled out my old school clock that I am using for now until Apple can create a way for us to change the default tone.

I don’t know of anyone mentioned it, but this functionality was originally working exactly the way we want it through many versions of iOS. One of the recent updates removed this basic feature. No good.

Im having the exact same issue. Its made me late for work and no matter what i did it didnt seem to fix it. I even went in and deleted all alarms then set up 3 with ringtones from apple music but they still go off with radial. Getting real F*****g tired of it

I guess I am mixed up in this mess also. As it was, I have a ton of alarms set to use the same song. I just have Siri turn them on as needed. Evidentially, I had Seri set a new alarm...since some stupid change and I was confused by it using the default "Radial" tone. In the confusion...I decided deleting all of my set alarms (which I normally ask Siri to turn on and off). Big mistake.

Now I am stuck with everyone else and having NO SETTING TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT ALARM SOUND! Why not just add "Default Alarm" to the Sounds & Haptics setting?!? Didn't it use to be in there? WTF is a "Default Alert" anyway? I don't know what an "Alert" is as I'm quite sure I have never heard its default "Rebound: noise before.

Anyway.....I guess I am going to have to start from scratch and after asking Seri to create an alarm....to go in and change the sound for it manually. Then when the alarm goes off...just turn it off but leave the alarm there so it can be used again, with the correct sound, in the future if needed. The issue is , when I say 'Hey Seri, set an alarm for X:XX" I won't know if it is one that I have already set before and needs the manual edit or not.

Really this a about the stupidest thing I have ever seen on an iphone. No setting to set a default alarm sound is ridiculous.

I discovered a simple and elegant solution that even Siri does not ignore:

Let's say I have an alarm set for 5am, with a dog bark, my preferred (and effective) sound.

If I need a different alarm time, such as 6am, I simply say:

"Hey Siri, change alarm to 6am."

I still get the dog bark!

The key here is to simply have one alarm set, and then change that single alarm!

Problem solved. (Despite Apple not giving us a PROPER way to change the default sound setting!

After looking at this again it does pick up my last Sound if I set it manually. But I set it by Siri all the time and when I do this it doesn't pick up my standard alarm tone, it sets it to None??

Clearly, there is no way to reset or change the default alarm sound after the iOS update.

You have to change each alarm sound individually for every alarm you create. If you use Siri to create alarm uses a default, which you cannot Get around the default sound that is stuck on the phone.

This works fine if you set the alarm manually. But if you set it using Siri, it automatically goes to the default tone. In my case, the default tone (on my iPhone 15) is "radial", which is a horrible tone to wake up to. This makes using Siri as a shortcut to set your alarm pretty much useless because you would still have to set the desired tone manually each time. Unless, of course, you like waking up to "radial". Clearly, someone at Apple does.

I know it's been almost a year, but in case someone else is searching this I figured I'd post the solution. Settings, Sounds & Haptics, then I turned reminder alerts and default alerts off so they are on vibrate only. After that when Siri set alarms for me she set them vibrate only.

Actually Radar is my default when I set it manually and I'd like to have Radar as well when I set it by Siri, but Siri will only set the alarm tone to "None" as far as I can tell.
