iPhone 12 getting warm

I have a screen protector and a case on my iPhone 12 the whole thing gets really warm through the phone case and the screen. It gets warm while I’m using it and even when it’s just sitting on the table. Has anyone else noticed this about your phone? Oh my daughter has the same phone and told me tonight that her phone gets warm really easy also.

iPhone 14 warm during use I recently upgraded from a iPhone 11 to a 14. When using this phone , it seems to get much warmer than the previous one (like whole back gets warm to the touch through the case). Compared to my previous device, I have a similar case, similar app useage, and close all my apps. Also, the device has been on and working for about a week, so backups and no software updates are being installed. Just wondering is this is normal for this phone or something to be looked into. Thanks.

This could vary based on several things. It will often heat up while charging. Also, thicker cases will make it heat up more cause the heat cannot escape. Extra processes running in the background could make it heat up. Restarting the phone could potentially help get rid of some of those.
