Voicemail disappeared after last 2 updates on my iPhone 14 Pro.

After the first 17 IOS update I would have to click on my voicemail a couple of times for it to show up. I just downloaded the new 17 and now I can’t get my voicemail at all. It’s empty. I know it’s not empty. I had messages in there prior. Plus iPhone 14 pro notified me that people left messages but I can’t find them, when I go to my messages, there is nothing in there. It sounds like this whole 17 iOS and voicemail is a mess. Also my voice texting is being very weird. I have to hit it like five times for it to work. I’m sure I’m missing something else. That’s weird about these updates.

I feel horrible for the people that are deaf and the mess these updates caused them! if anybody has any idea how I should fix this? Please let me know.

I was saving my father’s voicemails because he’s very sick and may not be with us for much longer. The new iOS deleted his voicemails. I’m heartbroken because he can’t leave me voicemails any longer. If anyone knows anything I can do, please let me know!

i lost my daughter’s voicemails I cherished so much!! This is super upsetting my baby girl passed away 3 years ago. This update is horrible. I’m seriously having panic attacks. I turned off the live voicemail toggle restarted my phone. And nothing. I honestly don’t know if I can go on without hearing her voice. It’s all I had to hear her when I wanted to. Apple took no consideration on people having saved voicemails from loved ones gone. I miss my little girl so much. This isn’t a carrier thing it’s an Apple thing and they should be ashamed to have done this to so many people like me.

I just lost ALL my irreplaceable voicemails after installing the 17 iOS/Live Voicemail feature. My carrier (T-mobile) nor Apple Support have done anything to help. They keep pointing fingers at the other. I've spent the last 2 hours so sick over this. I've tried everything on this community page over and over again and they are not coming back. PLEASE HELP!

Hi lauri91,

Are you following the steps in the link below to check your voice messages?

Check your voicemail on iPhone

To perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above, complete the steps in the section titled "Play, share, or delete a voicemail message."

Siri: Say something like: “Play the voicemail from Eliza.” Learn how to use Siri.
Or do the following:
1. Tap Voicemail, then tap a message.
2. Do any of the following:
* Play the message: Tap the Play button.
* Messages are saved until you delete them or your carrier erases them.
* Share the message: Tap the Share button.
* Delete the message: Tap the Delete button.
* Important: In some countries or regions, deleted messages may be permanently erased by your carrier. Your voice messages may also be deleted if you change your SIM card.
To recover a deleted message, tap Deleted Messages, tap the message, then tap Undelete.

We recommend the steps above because they will show you how to check the voicemail on your iPhone.

If you’re still experiencing the same issue, then we suggest that you contact your wireless carrier for continue support.

As for dictation not working as expected when sending text messages, check out the link here: Dictate text on iPhone.

Please let us know the outcome after giving the above steps a try.

Cheers!

I did the erase all settings and set my phone back up with my last back up previous to the update that deleted all my voicemails, but only some of them came back. None of the ones from my loved ones that passed but all the useless spam ones or non important ones. And on top of that it erased almost all my safari tabs I had open so lost things I was watching or researching and can’t remember what they all were so it was a risk that not only didn’t pay off but made me lose more important stuff and a complete waste of time! Why would only some of my voicemails return but not all of them!? I have cried so much over this it’s devastating

I had the same issue and while Apple acknowledged that it was an issue with the update and they couldn’t remedy it as of yet, one helpful person I spoke with suggested I go to the keypad and press down the number 1 until it prompts you to check your voicemail. I typed in my code and found the 30 voicemails that were lost. Because I was able to play them back but unable to export them, I played each one back on speaker and used my son’s phone to record voice memos of each voicemail. Then I saved them to my files and will have forever. Hope this helps you

I have had many iPhones as well and do know how to check them. I have figured out the last few days if I go to voicemail messages then back to recent calls or contacts a few times the VMs will eventually come up. But this is a pain! I also feel that my phone is just doing weird stuff on this last update. At times it won’t show my keyboard and just seems to get stuck when texting. Hope they fix these issues soon!!

Voicemail disappeared after last 2 updates on my iPhone 14 Pro.
