Why is my new Iphone 15 pro not charging

In the end I took my iPhone 15 Pro to the Apple Store in Southampton. They acknowledged a fault, but in the end they replaced the insides (not the whole device, please note) with working components. It was only 5 weeks old and had had problems since the start. The only way I could charge it was via MagSafe cradle.

After the update I didn’t really notice anything new until this morning. I tried charging my phone it wouldn’t charge. However when I tried the same charger in my AirPods it worked. last night I face the same issue, my iphone 15 pro was charging perfectly before ios 17.1.2 update, now after the update when I put it on charge it shows nothing, no charging sign nothing, so I turned the phone off and put it on charge and it started charging again, I think it is something related to next update, have you solved your issue or its still there for you?

It's been a while (months) since I have been using iPhone 15 pro but today when I returned home and plugged in the phone I found that it was not charging. I tried multiple chargers but the issue remained the same, hence I knew it was not the chargers. I found the solution here in the community: restart it and now it is working/charging fine. Apple should look into it and resolve the problem.

What charging block are you using? Have you tried using a different outlet?

Same issue - 15 Pro would not charge with power cable after update. Would charge wireless - restarted and will now charge with power cable.

Heyy I had the same problem. After ios update ip wont charge unless you turn it off and plug it while its off. Is your ip working now? What did you do?thanks

It took me days to realize that my 15 pro usb c quit charging. Then, I found this post and tried restarting the phone and it worked!

My iPhone 15pro is a couple of weeks old, yesterday I got up and the phone wasn’t charged, all apple charging equipment used. Tried a lot of different chargers and leads and the only way was wirelessly through a battery pack. Knocked the phone off and on and it fixed the issue so I’m guessing it’s a software problem. Have to book in with apple if it happens again.

Faced the same problem twice, took it to apple show room. They did a hard reset and said there was a software glitch. Apple should provide a proper fix for this issue.

I had this problem in my Citroen van

After forced reset and turning off battery optimisation it connected and charged

Next day it didn’t

But then my new 0.5m cable did work, but the same brand of 2m did not

I bought a Belkin 1m cable and it works

I turned battery optimisation back on and reconnected and it still works

But I expect it might not tomorrow with this setting on and if so I will report back

Seems to be a common problem with new iPhone 15. Mine took one charge on USB, and from then on would only recharge magnetically. Phoned Apple, who did remote check with no problem found, and then suggested updating IOS - disaster! Phone then froze, unresponsive to buttons, digital pressure, chargers of any type, and hard restart. The phone is currently back with Apple, awaiting 'repairs'. Watch this space...

My problem was managed by Apple with mid section replacement. So far so good, but I’m only recharging on MagSafe , and won’t be updating IOS until they fix the problem. Not totally sure my new mid section was new, because it kept asking me to sign in with a foreign Apple ID.

Apple returned the phone after a mid section replacement. Works OK, but I'm only doing MagSafe charges so far, and it will be a while before I do another IOS update! Not sure how new my new mid section is; it keeps wanting to sign me in to an unknown (foreign) Apple ID...

I have iPhone 15 and it stops charging randomly. For instance yesterday night it was charging perfectly and today morning it didn’t. I also had to restart the phone to get it charging. I have faced it a lot of times in past. Any help on fixing it permanently would be really appreciated.
