passwords deleted upon transfer to iCloud

I have got a new macbook pro and have set it up from my time machine backup. During installation I was asked, if I wanted to transfer my passwords to the iCloud and I did. Now all but approx. 10 passwords are lost. Is there a way to recover them?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

Thank you! Have meanwhile solved the problem. I had not enabled iCloud password sharing on my old computer. When I enabled that, all passwords were available on the new Mac and on my iPhone as well.

Hi mhemetsb,

We may need a few more details so that we can provide more targeted troubleshooting steps. In the meantime, make sure that you're signed in with the same Apple ID that was used on your previous Mac.

After confirming that, go over this resource that will help you find saved passwords: Find saved passwords and passkeys on your Mac

There are some additional steps that could be helpful here: If iCloud Keychain won't turn on or sync

If the issue continues, reply with this information:

  • Are you signed in to any other devices? If so, are your passwords still on those devices?

Regards.
