Lots of contacts to delete

Somehow a bunch of strangers got added to my contacts list. Is there any way to delete them without having to open each one?

On the phone that seems to be the only method.

Do it on a Mac or in iCloud.com instead. Select a name then command-click on all others and you will be able to remove all selected ones at once.

If a bunch "somehow" got added to your contacts list it might be because you added a new account (google, yahoo, outlook, etc.) and the contacts in them went to Contacts. You may want to go to Settings first and look into Internet accounts to see which one might be adding these contacts.
