Can you selectively move applications when importing via migration assistant, or do you have to bring with the full Applications or nothing?

I am setting up a new user account on an iMac running Ventura.

I have a lot of applications in the current Applications Folder that are not relevant for the new user.

Can I only import the apps that I need in the new account?

iMac (2017 – 2020)

Use Migration Assist is an All or Nothing for Applications

refer below

Transfer to a new Mac with Migration Assistant - Apple Support

You maybe able to use the TM Backup Utility with the TM Backup Drive to Pick and Choose the some applications though the support files for each application may or may not come over using this method.

That could render the Applications useless

What you could do is delete the apps you don't want before the migration according to the developer's instructions. You can also use AppCleaner to delete an app and its supporting files. However, be aware of the warning below:

WARNING: If you use AppCleaner on an app that you have other apps from the same developer, like Adobe, you must be extremely careful checking all checkboxes and deleting.  Some for those files may support other apps from the same developer and deleting them can mess them up.  Adobe apps is a primary example. I know from experience.  For singular apps from a developer it's safe.

Also remove any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN you may have installed on your older Mac before migration?

For clarity, are you adding a new user to an existing iMac ... or are you trying to migrate a user from a different Mac?

Migration Assistant is an all-or-nothing operation regarding moving applications from one Mac to another.

All the installed applications on a Mac are available to all user accounts on the Mac. However, if you want to restrict a user's access to certain apps, you could set up Parental Controls to limit what apps the user may run.

Can you selectively move applications when importing via migration assistant, or do you have to bring with the full Applications or nothing?
