Gmail button behavior in Tab Groups requires two clicks

When a Gmail tab is moved into a Tab group (Safari), the behavior of button clicks is affected. It requires two clicks for any action to start.

For instance, when clicking the trash can, the delete doesn't happen unless you click it again. This is not the case when using Gmail in a regular tab in Safari.

Wondering if someone else is experiencing the same thing and whether there are solutions?

Update of Mac OS to 14.1 solves the issue. Keyboard shortcut and mouse actions are now correctly intercepted and work both in regular tabs and tab groups.

Thanks for following-up. The problem I am having is not related to tabs in general.

Whenever a web application is running inside of Tab Groups, keyboard shortcuts are not working properly. It also seems to affect button behavior.

I think what is happening is that Safari intercepts certain keyboard and mouse operations when in Tab Group mode. I have so far noticed it with Gmail as described above, and also with Confluence (Atlassian) where shortcut codes are triggered by using a "/". The initial action works, but then you continue to type the actual shortcut you would like to use, e.g. "tab" for tables, then nothing happens.

Using these applications in regular tabs (not Tab groups) works properly. Not sure where I would report this Safari issue as a bug.
