Open in Background doesn’t open the actual link

I have a 11-inch iPad pro 4th generation and I just update to ios 17.0.3, but now the Open in Background function doesn’t seem to work properly in some websites, for example if I open a link in Artstation then the new tab isn’t actually the link shown but the page where I clicked the link instead.

I managed to find a bandaid solution by going to Website Settings and check in the Request Desktop Website option, now open in background will actually open the link that you click on, the downside is that you now stuck using the desktop website on a mobile device…
