Old Apple Pencil vs. New iPad Pro

My iPad Pro 1st gen needs to be replaced and I’d like a 6th gen.

I don’t like the idea of having to buy a new Apple Pencil just because the connector is different.

Why doesn’t Apple offer a “dongle” that would at least allow charging, even if not data transfer?

Or, are charging and connector shape not the only issues with pencil 1 vs. 2?

My old dongle that converts lightning connector to pin connector still works fine for my old Bose headphones.

The difference goes beyond just the connector. Since the Second Generation Apple Pencil, does not use said connector to pair or charge, the iPad would have no idea what to even do with a pencil connected to the port even if you could do that, the software is not prepared for that.

You can totally buy a Lightning to USB-C adapter just to test, but I'm sure its not going to work.

The 6th Generation iPad Pro connects to the Apple Pencil through the magnetic connector on the side.
