My iPhone 15 Plus is not Titanium

I assumed that all iPhone 15s were titanium but I just received my 15 Plus and it feels like plastic. Is this model made of plastic?

Thank you.

The iPhone 15 Pro models use the titanium chassis. Your iPhone 15 plus uses glass back and aluminium frame. From the Apple web description,

The innovative new design features back glass that has color infused throughout the material. A custom dual ion-exchange process for the glass, and an aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure, help make iPhone 15 incredibly durable.

No one was being snarky, not even me ;-) You were just so adamant you had a phone which is made of plastic, which you bought from an actual authorized seller, and now knowing the model number is authentic, we knew it just couldn't be plastic. The back glass on these phones isn't super think. And they do have a textured smoked glass feel. Tapping the back as you said you did, would not make it sound like tapping glass. It's really well insulated.

I'm glad you've decided to believe your phone is authentic, but more importantly, I hope you truly enjoy it. And like you said, it's going to be in a good protective case (which is very smart, given it's a glass encased device, front and back).

Enjoy your phone!

Perhaps you don't understand how different types of glass actually feels under different types of assemblies? I have a regular 15 (pink), exactly same as the Plus, (I've compared both in-store). While it may "feel" like plastic it is in fact not plastic. Throw your phone outside, in the middle of the street, if you refuse what people are telling you. Tapping on the front and back may not have the ring that free standing, uncoated glass has, because it's not free standing, uncoated glass. This is high grade glass adhered tightly to the internal components. A simple test: take some pure acetone on a swab, and dab it on the front and back of your iPhone, then try to rub it off. If there is any peeling, you've bought a dupe, you do not in fact have a real iPhone. Acetone eats through most types of plastics.

Kurtosis12,

Well then mine has some sort of plastic coating or cover on it. And no, I haven’t bought a cover for it.

And I’ll keep the discussion going until someone who owns a 15 Plus responds and can tell me if theirs feels like plastic.

If you are unhappy with the phone and it is still within 14 days, return it. You might also want to go to either your carrier's store or an Apple Store and look at the display models.

You have definitely lost ur sense of touch. The iPhone 15 has a textured and color infused glass back and minutely curved matte aluminum frame which feels beautiful in the hand. I have not held a phone which could match this feel. You might be feeling the back like plastic due to the texture ( I don’t know anyone else who does) It could also be because u may have owned a upper midrange phone with plastic back and similar texture ( pure assumption, I don’t know what phones u have owned) but I no matter what, to me and other people who I know with the same phone this beauty does not feel anything like plastic.
