I can hear others but that can’t hear me

I can hear on my airpods but people in the line can’t hear me

Thanks for participating in Apple Support Communities. Complete the following steps to see if they help with the microphone issue you're having while using your AirPods:


  1. Be sure the device you're pairing them with is fully updated. Updates help by installing bug fixes and include security updates. If an update is available, be sure to back up first. If you're using an iPhone, these steps will help: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
  2. Clean your AirPods as dirt, debris, and build up can cause this type of issue: Cleaning AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and EarPods - Apple Support
  3. Reset your AirPods to see if fresh connections help: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support


If those steps don't help, let us know more:


  • Which AirPods model do you have? Identify your AirPods - Apple Support
  • Which device are you pairing them with and which software version is installed?
  • Does this happen with both the right and left microphone?


The more details you can provide the better the community can help.
