Final Cut Pro System requirements doesnt have my graphics card on the list. So does this mean if I have the AMD Radeon Pro 5500m that my Final Cut Pro application will run slower and less optimized?

I purchased my MacBook Pro in the beginning of 2020 just before they released the apple silicon chips. I have no issues with my MacBook Pro and specifically built it to be able to edit video on the go but it seems im slowly being pushed away from that ability unless I upgrade to a newer apple chip enabled MacBook Pro which I just cannot afford. Is there going to be any support for the MacBooks running the AMD radeon 5500? or am I forced to look into purchasing a new computer if I want the performance out of Final Cut Pro like im suppose to have?

I have an 11 year old base model Mac mini and a 6 year old iMac.

Both models have FCP and can edit 1080p and 4K with no problems so your almost new MBP should sail through editing.

Obviously the latest M2 chips will be even faster but shortly after you buy one, a faster one will come along . . .

P.S. My 2012 Mac mini hasn't even got a separate graphics card . . . it's got an integrated one with up to 1 GB RAM shared with the main memory!

The list of graphics cards does not include factory installed graphics. It's a list of approved third party, after market graphics cards.

The computer should be quite adequate for most editing. It depends of course on the amount of RAM, VRAM, and drives, and what media you're using and what you're doing besides cutting. Does the performance seemed to be diminished since you've got the computer?
