How is/are the disc(s) connected to your Mini?

If you're using a hub is the hub self powered?

If you're using a hub have your tried connecting the drives directly to your Mini?

Have you tried different ports?

Have you tried different cables?

Have you tried the drives on another Mac?

I see this issue has apparently not gone away. It's now December, 2023, I'm running 14.2.1 (Sonoma) on a MacBook Air M2, and I'm still getting multiple messages. For me, it's the Time Machine drive (1 TB Sandisk Extreme SSD) causing the error message, and other than one error message each hour (a real drag when I've been away for a day or two!), everything seems to be working normally. I have "Battery" in Settings set to spin down hard disks only when on battery (which is hardly ever). Time Machine is set to back up every hour, and although I haven't made the effort to watch carefully, I'm guessing that the message occurs right after each snapshot. The stream of error messages appears only for this drive, which is connected directly to one of the USB C ports on the Mac. I've tried both ports, and the behavior is the same. I have not tried switching cables, but that doesn't seem to have helped anyone else, so I don't really have much motivation...

Just my 2 cents, and a way of bumping the issue up a bit.

Yes to all.

Have run hardware diagnostics. all okay,

have re-installed Ventura. no change.
