When downloading from icloud each picture downloads in my computer as a zip file, how to download just the picture without a zip file?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you wish to download your photos without them being in a ZIP file. If so, we'd like to share some information with you. This resource explains how to download your iCloud Photos to a computer: Download iCloud photos and videos - Apple Support
It also states the following:
If your photos download as a ZIP archive, learn how to uncompress the folder on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If your photos download as a ZIP archive, learn how to uncompress the folder on your Mac or your PC.

I had supports today, they took over my phone & my computer, took a lot of time trying different things, consulted with others, they said others are having the same problem, they told me it was a software glish to try back in a few days.
