AirPods used to work but now won't connect to my iPhone

when trying to reconnect my AirPods and holding the button on the back of the case; I never see the white light so they are not connecting.

Try resetting your AirPods by following the steps in this support article: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

If this does not work, make sure your iPhone is up to date, or restart your iPhone if it is already up to date.

If your AirPods still don’t connect, contact Apple Support.

I have already tried the resetting article numerous times; it shows the AirPods when I go to settings but once I open the case and hold the button, it doesn't connect. The light stays green but never goes to white. I am double checking my updates but I thought I was current. And I just restarted my phone this morning.

My phone is currently updating to 17.0.3 and then I will restart it and see what happens. Thanks for your reply.
