Airpods sound

Hi everyone, I have been struggling with my airpods after I updated my iphone to the IOS 17. The sound has been very weird, the spatial audio seems not to be accurate, when I use the transparency mode I hear my voice as if it were a robot speaking. I do not know if they are broken or what. I tried to reset it at least 5 times, but it didn’t solve the problem, I also tried to change all the the settings I could and still not the same as before. I listen to music every single day, so I can tell there’s something wrong. Should I wait for the next software update or should I take it to the support team at an apple store?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 17

Hi Matt_Marinho,

Thanks for reaching out and posting in Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you have already tried a lot of troubleshooting with your AirPods, we appreciate you sharing that with us.

Have you tried pairing the AirPods with another device? And if so, do you hear the same issues with spatial and transparency mode? Does this happen with all apps you use for listening to music?

Do both your iPhone and AirPods have the most current versions? For the iPhone it's going to be iOS 17.0.3. And for the AirPods, see About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support and just locate your AirPods model and it will let you know what version should be installed.

If everything is updated, and you still are having this behavior with the AirPods, then you will want to contact Apple Support by going to Get Support.

Take care!
