I updated my iPhone X to 16.7.1, the latest version available. I then tried to update my Apple Watch Series 5 (to 10.0 or 10.1) and it said I need to update my iPhone first. Well I've done that so not sure how to fix this so I can update my watch. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

In order to upgrade your Apple Watch to watchOS 10, your iPhone is going to need to be upgraded to iOS 17. However, an iPhone X is not compatible with iOS 17, as shown here:
