Retrieving App specific password to use for Outlook on Iphone

I generated an App specific password for Outlook on my Mac. I have now downloaded Outlook on my Iphone.

How do i access the password i already have for Outlook in App-Specific Passwords to use for the Iphone Outlook app? there doesnt appear to be any way to copy and paste or even reveal the App Specific password?

or can i generate a NEW App specific password for Iphone Outlook? that doesnt make sense and i'm afraid to try it.

iPhone XR, iOS 16

Hey there nycseattle,

You will need to create a new app-specific password for each app you are attempting to sign into. You can have up to 25 active app-specific passwords. This is why you are only seeing the option to generate or revoke them. If needed, you'll find additional information linked below.

Hi nycseattle,

There are a couple places your Mac stores passwords depending on the app, in this case if you accessed Outlook with the Outlook app or if you accessed it via Safari. Here are some resources that can help:

Hi sorry if i wasnt clear...i am asking about the app specific password that is required when you have 2-factor verification turned on and you are trying to use a non Apple app.

I generated an app specific password following instructions so that I was able to switch from Apple Mail to Outlook on my Mac. I now want to do the same on my Iphone and Ipad, i.e. use Outlook as my sole mail app on all three devices. i am unable to do so because i cannot access the App-Specific Password that has been generated. There are only options to generate and revoke not to re-use or copy.

does that question make sense?

App specific passwords are found in the Security and Sign in section under appleid
