Desktop wallpaper - stretch across two screens

Am I missing something or is a feature that has existed on Windows desktops for years still not a thing on OSX? All I want is to take a wide image and stretch it across both of my screens on my Mac Studio not just a copy of the image on the other screen. I know there is third-party software to do this but I feel like this is a pretty simple ask from Apple engineers.

Desktop Picture is Cropped I have a really nice picture of the grandchildren in iPhoto that I want to use as my desktop picture. When I do this by - File - Share - Set Desktop Picture - instead of getting the photo to fill out the screen of my 27" iMac perfectly, I find that the picture is cropped on the top, bottom, left side but strangely enough, not on the right side. What gives? I thought that the Set Desktop Picture would give me a perfect reproduction on the iMac's screen but this is evidently not the case. Any steps I could take to get the desktop picture that I want? I have the original 5K 27" iMac running 11.7.3 so quite an ancient setup but I don't think that this should have anything to do with my problem.

Ventura - wallpaper resizing Just downloaded Ventura. In System Settings under Wallpaper is a whole new way of selecting, which is OK, but the images I've selected from a Photos file display, but so far only in fill screen - I'm not finding the old fit to screen option. It is mentioned - lower right corner question mark - in "Picture (or image name)," it lists the old options, including Fit to screen, which I need, but haven't been able to find. Thanks for any ideas/help.

Wallpaper photos Prior to Ventura, I could tell my Mac to centre photos, fit to screen and a few more options. I can't find these options anywhere in System settings>Wallpaper. They must be somewhere. Thanks for any help.
