iPhone 15 Pro Max claimed on insurance but not in stock?

Hi all. I lost my iPhone Pro Max (white) on holiday. My claim under Apple care+ has been approved which is great but do I have to wait the same time as ordering a brand new phone (wait time currently 17th-24th November)?

I just wondered whether an insurance replacement gets replaced in a quicker timeframe than that or whether I’ll have to wait the full 5-6 weeks.

Any help appreciated.

Hello Alpine021,

If you filed that claim through an AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss agreement, you'll want to reach out to Apple to get more details about your claim: iPhone Theft and Loss Claims - Official Apple Support

If this was filed through your carrier or a different insurer, you'll want to consult with them.

They would be in the best position to provide more details on approximate turn around time for claims.

Take care.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I reported the loss direct through Apple Care+ (not a carrier) and Apple put me through to AIG who deal with the claim. Once approved it then goes back to Apple to ship the phone.

The problem is neither Apple nor AIG can answer this question. The next step is I now need a shipment number from Apple but I’ve got a really bad feeling the I won’t get this until late November when the phone is next available and I just can’t get an answer. I had my claim approved and am just sat around waiting to hear from Apple. Not a very slick service at all unfortunately.
