Connecting Airpods to TV

Recently, I bought an Insignia FireTV and I am having problems connecting my AirPod Pro 2’s.

I have done the connecting process, restarted the TV, even tried different devices.

My old AirPod Pros that are first generation connected just fine, but they are actually broken (they squeak super loud randomly) so I can’t use those.

I tried everything recommended by Amazon and so far nothing has worked. They recommended to ask someone from Apple instead.

What should I do?

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities o-muss,

If you're having an issue getting your AirPods Pro 2 paired with your TV, we would recommend going through the troubleshooting in If your AirPods or AirPods Pro won't connect - Apple Support.

While the troubleshooting within is targeted at issues pairing to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, they can still be helpful for non-Apple devices. Try the steps below, taken from the article but customized for your situation:

  1. Make sure you have the latest firmware for your TV installed. You may have to speak with Insignia, the manufacturer, to determine how to do this.
  2. Put both AirPods in the charging case; make sure they charge: Charge your AirPods and learn about battery life - Apple Support.
  3. If your AirPods are paired to an iPhone or iPad as well, make sure the iOS or iPadOS software is up-to-date. This is how the firmware for the AirPods get updated: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
  4. Reset your AirPods and try to pair them again: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support
