How do I remove empty DCIM folders from my PC created when downloading my photos from iPhone 13?

It's very annoying file folders that I can't rename or delete.

I take thousands of Photos and have to scroll through all the DCIM file folders to find what i need.

dozens of folders created on Iphone 16 pro frankstar99 wrote below in April 2024 I take a lot of photos with my iPhone 14 pro. In internal storage, there are dozens of folders with names like, 202301_, 202312_a, 202312_b, etc... I can copy the photos to my p.c., but I can't get rid of these folders. And some of the pictures get duplicated on the phone storage in 2 different adjacent folders. It didn't always work like this and my previous iPhones didn't make so many random folders for photos. Why is it doing this, and how can I get rid of all these folders once I empty them of the photos? How can I delete the pictures stored on the On My Mac section of my photo library on my iPhone? I have deleted all the photos in my Mac library and on my iPhone library, but the phone will still show me old photos on the Library. When I go to Albums, the top shown section, My Albums, shows clear, but I scroll down a bit, and under the People & Places section, I see the From My Mac section, with a bunch of old pictures in folders named Camera Roll, iCloud Photos, and another 2, with 7K + photos from ages ago. How can I remove them all?

You should not be scrolling through DCIM folders; access to the photo library by directly accessing the photo app storage is not a supported feature. The DCIM folders are data elements in the photo app SQLite database. If you could delete them that would break the photo library function of the iPhone.
